Michael Makris has been a licensed Texas lawyer since 1995. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1991 from San Diego State University. He then received his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law. While in law school, he worked as a paid intern at the Special Crimes Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. During his internship, Michael was given authorization by the state of Texas to appear before the courts as a third-year law student.

Immediately after being licensed as an attorney by the Supreme Court of Texas, Mr. Makris was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney by former District Attorney Johnny Holmes, Jr. in 1995. He spent the following four years serving as a Harris County Prosecutor in the Felony and Misdemeanor Trial Bureaus, as well as the Family Criminal Law Division.

Michael now works at Makris Law Firm where he represents Texas citizens in private practice. Throughout his career, Michael has served as lead attorney in numerous contested matters, including jury trials, bench trials and Social Security Disability (SSD) and SSI hearings. He is a fluent speaker of Spanish and modern Greek.
